BIST 100 index climbs slightly by 0.01 points.

Turkey’s benchmark stock index rose by 0.01 percent to close at 91,860.75 points on Friday.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index started the day at 91,777.54 points and gained 6.67 points from Thursday’s close of 91,854.08 points.

The benchmark index hovered between 90,916.29 and 92,222.35 points, while 50 stocks on the index were on the rise, 36 were on the decline, and 14 were flat compared to the previous close.

The total market value of listed shares on the BIST 100 was around 593.1 billion Turkish liras ($112.7 billion) at the close, and the daily trading volume was 5.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.02 billion).

Shares of energy company Isiklar climbed the most, up 16.92 percent, while stocks of furniture manufacturer Dogtas Kelebek did the worst, falling 6.25 percent.

The most-traded stocks were private lender Garanti, national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, leading defense company Aselsan, iron/steel producer Kardemir, and state lender Halkbank.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.3010 at close, up from Thursday’s close of 5.2580.

The euro/lira rate also rose at close; 6.0630 versus 6.0350 at the previous close.

One British pound traded for 6.7140 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 6.6790 at close on Thursday.

In Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,260.00 by market close, up from $1,254.95 a day ago.

The price of Brent crude oil dropped to $53.80 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Friday, versus $56.06 at previous close.
